PAUL PEARSON, age 67, of St. Peter, Minn., died on Friday, March 8, 2013, at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato. Memorial service was held March 14, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Charles Christensen officiating. Visitation was at St. Peter Funeral Home. Paul was born on February 12, 1946, in Hutchinson, Kans., to Rev. Walter and Dagny (Lillquist) Pearson. In 1964, he graduated from St. Peter High School and went on to Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, graduating in 1968. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era stationed in Germany. He was a member of the 101st Airborne Division. Paul worked for over 20 years at the Minnesota Security Hospital in St. Peter. He was a member of the St. Peter Redmen Club and spent afternoons playing cribbage there. He played tennis and golf and enjoyed working crossword puzzles. Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife: Kathy; stepson: Derek Schreyer; sister-in-law Sister Roberta (Carol) Werner; sister: Ruth Nelson (Richard); nephew: Mark Nelson (Vicki); and nieces: Betsy Nelson and Katie Tessmer (Shawn) and their daughter Emily. He was preceded in death by his father in 1997, and mother in 2006.
