    Luther College regents appoint David Tiede, Ph.D., interim president

    The Luther College Board of Regents announced the appointment of David L. Tiede, Ph.D., as interim president of the college effective July 1. Luther President Richard L. Torgerson will end his term of service with the college on June 30.

    Luther College, University of Northern Iowa create 'The Postville Project'

    With support from their institutions and the State Historical Society of Iowa, Luther College and the University of Northern Iowa have partnered to create a digital archive that documents the town of Postville, Iowa before, during and after the 2008 immigration raid.

    The Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board has announced that Laura Harney, class of 2013; Kimberly Horner, class of 2011; and Matthew Lind, class of 2013, have been selected for Fulbright awards for the 2013-14 academic year.

    Luther College to complete solar project with array powering commons building

    During the month of May, Luther will complete the installation of a solar photovoltaic project at the Baker Village commons building. The commons will have its own working solar array,  marking the end of a $750,000 Department of Energy award in support of the college's plan to cut its carbon footprint in half by 2015.

    Luther softball makes fourth consecutive appearance at Nationals

    Whitewater Regional champions Luther College (32-9) will play Angola Regional champions Anderson University (30-16) in the opening round of the NCAA III Women's Softball Championship at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 17. The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire is hosting this year's championship at Carson Park, located in Eau Claire, Wis., May 17-21.

    The Luther College Concert Band and Jazz Orchestra will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 17 in the Center for Faith and Life Main Hall on the Luther campus. The concert is open to the public with no charge for admission.
