LIS Summer Faculty Workshop Now Accepting Applications

Applications are now being accepted for the Summer 2014 Faculty Workshop "Enhancing Student Learning Through Information Literacy and Technology" co-sponsored by the Dean's Office and LIS. The workshop will be held June 10-13, 2014, in Preus Library. Group meeting times are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings, with flexible project time (for tracks 2 and 3) with LIS team members during the week.

Faculty who are interested in utilizing the new Digital Media Center could use this workshop as an opportunity to explore possibilities.

There are three possible tracks for the workshop, so faculty may choose the one that works best. Find out more about the structure and content of the workshop by visiting this link: http://lis.luther.edu/studentlearningworkshop2014.

For participants in Tracks 2 and 3, we are offering up to $400 in technology equipment for their department to assist in the work of redesigning an assignment/unit or an entire course. We are also offering the opportunity to participate individually or as a team. There is an application process for the workshop, so that we can ensure a tailored approach to helping each faculty member with their work. Those who choose Track 2 or 3, will be able to work with a team from LIS to address particular needs. Please click here to go directly to the online application. Applications are due Monday, May 5, 2014.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Andi Beckendorf (beckenan, x1227) or Diane Gossman (gossmand, x1408).
