Help.luther.edu Upgrade

Help.luther.edu is being upgraded on Sunday, October 19. It is used by Luther faculty, staff, and students to submit requests online to LIS, Web Content, and Email Marketing. With the upgrade comes a complete overhaul of the look and feel as well as increased functionality. Two open training sessions will be held in Main 113 (10/20 from 2:00-2:30pm and 10/21 from 10:00-10:30am) to help familiarize the community with the new look.

How do you host a video conference?

There are three video conferencing tools that are supported by LIS. They include Google Hangouts, Skype, and GoToMeeting.

We recommend using Google Hangouts (up to 10 people) or Skype (up to 25 people) for video conferencing sessions. When you're wanting a more structured, controlled environment, GoToMeeting (up to 100 people) is ideal. Google Hangouts and Skype sessions may be initiated by the Luther community at any time; GoToMeeting sessions require advance notification and setup by LIS. As of Fall 2014, GoToMeeting is now available through KATIE.

User Services Meeting - 9/29/14

The User Services Team meets twice each month. At this week's meeting, the topics were: Wowza Server Demo, Circulation Staffing, Library Color Printer, Update on Keys, GoPrint Release Issue, Message “no login servers available at this time”, Homecoming, and Podium Issues.

Issue Regarding GoPrint Queues

There is a problem in which print jobs are finding their way to other users’ GoPrint release queues. GoPrint support is working to remedy this problem. An update was applied to GoPrint this afternoon following the recommendation of the vendor. If you see a print job show up in your queue that does not belong to you, please contact the Technology Help Desk at x1000 or online at helpdesk@luther.edu
