WorldCat Discovery

What is WorldCat Discovery?

WorldCat Discovery is a new way to discover library materials that includes the following features in our online catalog:

  • a single search box (a la Google)
  • the ability to refine searches on-the-fly by multiple parameters
  • relevance ranking
  • federated search integration
  • visibility to materials in other libraries

Visit our WorldCat Discovery How-To page for a brief demo.

What is in WorldCat Discovery?

The primary and featured information source in WorldCat Discovery is our online library catalog, as well as records for online journals and other electronic data sources. WorldCat Discovery will link to available full text articles, and will include a button to submit an interlibrary loan request for materials we do not own.

How do I use WorldCat Discovery?

Using WorldCat Discovery is as simple as using an Internet search engine. Just type in terms or words that you are researching and your results will be returned. You can limit your search using facets which appear on the left side of the page.
