Are you ready to meet your bloggers?

Hola friends, family, and other curious people,

First, let us introduce ourselves, our names are Abby and Cassie. We will be your blog coordinators for the Spanish 340 Buenos Aires, Argentina trip! In just a few short weeks 11 of us with Professor Alonso, will begin our journey to Buenos Aires, Argentina. Throughout the course of our trip, members of our class will be living with host families, attending classes at ECELA in Buenos Aires, and exploring different historical and cultural sites along the way.

Abby Cornejo

Hi all, I'm a sophomore Elementary Education major with an endorsement in ESL and a Spanish minor. I'm from the Chicago suburbs but absolutely love the small, beautiful town of Decorah. When I'm not in class or working at Marty's, I enjoy laughing with my roommate, reading, knitting hats, walking around the beautiful Luther campus, and coloring. During breaks, I spend my time sleeping and playing with my dog. Here on campus I'm a member of Luther Student Educators Assosciation (LSEA), Council for Exceptional Children, and PALS. I had the opportunity to take my clinical observation of area schools in Gallup, N.M. last J-Term and loved the experience getting to travel with people who are now some of my closest friends. I've never left the country before so, I'm super excited to get to Argentina to study the culture and improve my conversational Spanish skills.

Cassie Kiener

Hey there! My name is Cassie Kiener and I am a junior sociology major with minors in Spanish and social welfare. I am a member of the Luther College trumpet studio, as well as a captain on the Women Ultimate Frisbee team (FREYA). When I’m not tossing a disc or studying, you can find me taking care of the plants on campus, watching movies, baking, or taking naps. Last January I had the opportunity to utilize my Spanish-speaking skills during an internship in New York. Studying in Argentina will be a nice extension of this, and will allow me to fully immerse myself in the language for the first time. I am most excited about the opportunity to live with a host family, improve my communication skills and embrace a new (and warmer) climate and culture.

We are ecstatic to share this journey with everyone! If you have any questions along the way, feel free to send us an email at [email protected] or [email protected].

Mantener su atención para más en enero! Hasta luego!

(Stay tuned for more in January! See you then!)
