Easy Belizey

This morning the crew headed out toward the rainforest under the guide of major Tom. The first adventure of the day consisted of a canopy tour over the Nohoch Che'en Rainforest via 6 zip lines. We were able to identify many trees and plants such a mahogany, sapodilla (chicle), poision wood, bloodwood, cohune trees, and xate.

Then the group trekked through the rainforest viewing caves by foot and then floated through a cave system on innertubes, equipped with headlights. The cave system we toured is an archeological site today, as they were considered sacred by the Maya. Tommorow we will be heading to the ancient Mayan ruins of Lamanai in the Orange Walk district of northern Belize.
