LIS Winter Planning Day Review

Thanks to everyone for your participation in this past Tuesday’s winter planning day. Attached to this post are copies of our objective reviews with our status updates. Green flags signify items well underway, yellow flags are items underway, but with significant work yet to be done, while red flags are initiatives that are yet to begin. We also gathered together a good list of things not originally planned as objectives for this year, which are also attached to this post.

Beginning next week, we’ll report out some of the work from our MISO discussion sessions. We reviewed importance of services through the eyes of our constituents, as well as skill levels and training needs.

The LIS Communication Plan was also discussed as a way to provide some clarity and simplification in how we communicate within LIS. Please review the full text of the document in an earlier blog post. In short, we’re focusing more effort on our LIS blog as a central tool to share information across the organization, while retiring items like the 8:45 daily meeting and LIS listserv.

LIS Website Changes

  • Migration work is underway to move off of its current server (Ada) to the helpdesk server. Much of this work was complete this week and we are now working to implement SSL on the new site. We hope to cut over shortly.

Authentication / Norse Key Update

As part of the work to look at implementing a self-provisioning system to transfer users to Google Apps, we will be doing some significant upgrades to the Norse Key server. This work will delay our authentication roll out a bit longer.
