The Italian program's goal is to provide a solid introduction to the Italian language and culture. Although we currently do not offer a major or minor in Italian, two courses are offered every year: Beginning Italian 101 and 102. These courses are one way of satisfying the Luther College's language requirement.

Students interested in music, art, or travel often choose this course sequence to enhance their degrees . It is also possible to continue work in Italian by enrolling in various Directed Readings courses.

Luther’s affiliation with the Associated Colleges of the Midwest offers a special opportunity for students wishing to study in Italy. Read a student testimonial about studying in Italy.
