Yellow River Hiking Adventure

Luther College is located in a beautifully rugged area of northeastern Iowa. This trip will head 35 miles east of Luther to explore some incredible local landscape in the Yellow River State Forest as well as other state parks and a National Monument. The group will spend 3 days hiking and camping in an area that boasts limestone rock outcroppings, heavily wooded bluffs and impressive views of the State Forest.

The second half of this trip will include canoeing on the Mississippi River in a ten-person Voyageur canoe, camping on an island in the Mississippi, and learning about the stunning natural setting that is accessible to you throughout your years at Luther. You will hike roughly 5-10 miles a day and be on the move all week. This group will consist of 8 new students along with the 2 group leaders.
