Non-Profit Service Tour

Luther Student help construct a house for Habitat for Humanity in Decorah.

Start your time at Luther by doing what many current students and alumni continue to do, give back to the community you live in. This trip embarks on a series of half-day service projects for a variety of non-profits in the Decorah area. Projects are planned with Habitat for Humanity, Iowa DNR Trout Hatchery, Seed Savers Exchange, Winneshiek County Conservation, Winneshiek Recycling Center and others. You’ll go to beautiful places, be introduced to inspirational individuals, connect to your community and have a great sense of achievement.

Each night you will be camping in different locations and participating in fun activities along the way. Plan on attending a blue grass concert, canoeing the Upper Iowa River while removing trash, swinging a hammer to help build a house and much, much more. This group will consist of eight new students along with the two group leaders.
