Local Foods Tour

In an effort to embrace the vibrant community of small, local producers in the Decorah area, Luther has made the commitment to source 35 percent of food locally.  This trip provides participants the opportunity to meet the faces and places behind the food they will consume during their next four years on campus. The group will spend time on the farms that supply Luther with everything from breakfast bacon to salad-bar broccoli.  Participants of this trip should be ready for gardening, camping, cooking/eating great food, and some exciting side trips such as tubing or canoeing the Upper Iowa, watching a film, and other fun activities. This group will consist of eight new students along with two Luther Student leaders and a Faculty/Staff guest.
