FAQ

What repertoire will I work on?

  • Singers: singers will need to bring at least five pieces to work on: one of which should be an aria, two of which should be in Italian (the aria may be in Italian, if you wish.) Additional vocal assignments may be made on site, for example working on a duet or trio, or working on a piece by a student composer.
  • String Players: chamber music repertoire assignments for string players will be made prior to the festival, and students should plan to arrive with this music prepared. String players should have additional repertoire to study and/or perform which may include a sonata, concerto, or unaccompanied Bach. Additional assignments may be made during the course of the festival, which could include collaborating with a student composer.
  • Pianists: collaborative and chamber music assignments for pianists will be made prior to the festival, and students should plan to arrive with this music prepared.  Pianists should have additional solo repertoire to study and/or perform which may include a sonata or concerto. Additional assignments may be made during the festival, which could include collaborating with a student composer.
