Coaching Philosophy

Paul Hoffman Carousel 02

Lessons Through Football

Football is a microcosm of life. The sport teaches us about community, accountability, communication, work ethic, and delayed gratification. As offensive linemen, this is amplified because we need to function like a family.

Teaching life through the game of football is why I believe in coaching. Every situation, success, and challenge found in the game can be related to life.

Brotherhood

This brotherhood requires you have Faith in the man next to you and accountability to all. It is the duty of five to work as one and FINISH every play.

Strategy

Simplicity is the key to success. We use simple schemes, rules, and concepts that apply to every front.

Offensive linemen also need to play fast. We do our thinking before the play, as thinking during the play results in slower players.

Meetings

We meet regularly as an offensive line unit. These meetings are never dull and usually have some aspect of humor, work, and fellowship. We discuss various topics on life, success, and leadership because I believe in the full development of my athletes.

Meals

On Thursday nights my wife, Magda, helps me host meals for the offensive line. Our son, Porter, likes to help out with these however he can.

Mid summer I like to host another BBQ for the O-line. It's a great chance to get together and catch up!
