Xiaolin Duan to join department as Visiting Assistant Professor

Xiaolin Duan will be joining the History Department in fall 2014 as Visiting Assistant Professor of East Asian history. After receiving her B.A from Peking University, China, Xiaolin went to the University of Washington, Seattle for an M.A. and Ph.D. Her research and teaching interests have been focused on social-cultural history in early modern China and East Asia in general. She looks forward to teaching a variety of courses in East Asian history at Luther, including topics on material culture, travel and environmental history.
