The Bi-Centennial of the writing of the Norwegian Constitution to be Marked

On May 8, Luther College will celebrate the bi-centennial of the writing of the Norwegian constitution with lectures given by Anna Peterson and Øyvind Gulliksen. Dr. Peterson will present the first lecture, titled "How to Write a Constitution in 5 Weeks: The Fateful Events of Spring 1814" followed by Dr. Gulliksen's presentation: "My Country 'Tis of Thee: The American Centennial Celebration of the Norwegian Constitution, Minneapolis-St. Paul, May 17th 1914." These lectures represent a renewal of the annual Knut Gjerset lecture.

The event will start at 7 pm in Olin 102 and is free and open to the public. Following the presentations, Norwegian vafler will be served in the Shirley Baker Commons in Baker Village.
