Sophos Anti-Virus - Update Password

LIS requires that Norse Keys be changed at least every six months for security reasons. When you do this, you must also update your password in Sophos Anti-Virus in order to ensure that you continue to be protected from viruses.

Windows

  1. Right Click on the Blue Sophos Shield icon located in the task bar in the lower-right corner.
  2. Select Open Sophos Endpoint Security and Control.
  3. Click Configure and select Updating.
  4. Confirm the Address Field reads http://sophos.luther.edu/ESXP (for personal computers).
  5. Click Change next to the Password field.
  6. Enter your new Norse Key password in the Password and Confirm Password fields.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Right Click on the Blue Sophos Shield and select Update Now to confirm the password works.

Windows Configuration Instructions

Pre-Version 9.7

  1. Right Click on the Blue Sophos Shield icon located in the task bar in the lower-right corner.
  2. Select Open Sophos Endpoint Security and Control.
  3. Click Configure and select Updating.
  4. Enter your new Norse Key password in the Password and Confirm Password fields.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Right Click on the Blue Sophos Shield and select Update Now to confirm the password works.

Macintosh

  1. Click on the Black Sophos Shield icon located in the top menu bar in the upper-right corner.
  2. Select Open Preferences.
  3. Click the Padlock in the lower left corner to permit changes.
  4. Confirm the Address field reads http://sophos.luther.edu/ESOSX.
  5. Enter your new password in the Password field.
  6. Close the window.
  7. Click on the Black Sophos Shield and select Update Now to confirm the password works.
