This article contains answers to common questions pertaining to Norse Chat. Norse Chat, a part of Norse Apps, is Luther College’s version of Google Talk, and it is an IM client whose network is automatically connected to both the entire Google Talk and AOL AIM networks.

Q3: Will I get Norse Chat?

Yes. All Norse Apps users will have a Luther-based instant messaging (IM) account that integrates with your email client. You will have the ability to use this service as you see fit.

Q4: When I go to Settings > Chat, I don’t have an option for animating my emoticons. Why not?

You may be on an older version of Firefox, or whatever web browser you are currently using. If you are using Firefox, you need to be on version 2.0 or higher.

Q5: How can I see and hear my friends as I’m chatting with them?

Norse Chat does allow you to make voice and video calls to friends and family. For information on installing and using this feature, see Google Voice and Video Chat.
