Network Storage - Mac OS X

This guide will help you access your personal H drive network storage space or network shares on Mac OS X.

Note – H and network shares are no longer available from off campus via this method

Connect To Your H Drive (Personal Storage)

1. From the top menu bar, click Go and select Connect to Server or press Command K.

2. In the Server Address field, type the path to your network share:

  • Faculty – smb://academic.luther.edu/username
  • Staff – smb://admin1.luther.edu/username
  • Students – smb://students.luther.edu/username

Replace Username with your username (doejo01, etc)

3. Click Connect. Enter your Norse Key when prompted.

4. The drive will now show up in the Finder and on the Desktop.

5. To disconnect, click and drag the drive to the Trash or click the Eject button next to the share listed in the Finder.

Connect to Network Shares (Departmental, Academic, etc)

1. From the top menu bar, click Go and select Connect to Server or press Command K.

2. In the Server Address field, type the path to your network share:

  • Faculty – smb://academic.luther.edu/sharename
  • Staff – smb://admin1.luther.edu/sharename

3. Click Connect. Enter your Norse Key when prompted.

4. The drive will now show up in the Finder and on the Desktop.

5. To disconnect, click and drag the drive to the Trash or click the Eject button next to the share listed in the Finder.
