Located in Larsen Hall (south entrance), the Luther College Student Health Service is a comprehensive outpatient clinic that can meet most health needs of students. Medical problems that go beyond the scope of the Health Service are referred to appropriate off-campus facilities.
From campus, call 9-911 for immediate emergency medical service and transportation to Winneshiek Medical Center.
Students' medical records are kept in strict confidence. Only with a student's written release can records be copied and sent to a third party. Information will be shared with a parent or guardian only with permission from the student. On occasion, information regarding physical or mental health status of a student may be shared with the vice president of Student Life if sharing that information would benefit the student.
Spring 2013 Hours: Health Service is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
A medical record is maintained on all students. Medical records are kept for 10 years from date of graduation. If you need medical records transferred, a written release is required. Use the "Release of Information" form, which can be downloaded here: www.luther.edu/student-life/health-service/forms/release/.
Physical therapy is not offered on campus. A college physician may refer students to a local facility. Students are responsible for any charges incurred.
X-rays are done at Winneshiek Medical Center and must be ordered by a college physician.
A licensed massage therapist is available for on-campus massages. For an appointment, call the Health Service at (563) 387-1045.
