Student volunteers from Luther College's student congregation will help Decorah residents with winter chores on Saturday, Jan. 12, and Saturday, Jan. 19, when Luther begins a new ministry program called God's Helping Hand.
Luther students will help Decorah residents with yard work, snow shoveling and household chores. The service day is similar to the fall and spring flings sponsored by college ministries.
The event is open to all Decorah residents free of charge, but those who are elderly or handicapped will be given priority.
Any donations to God's Helping Hand are welcome and will be divided between the ELCA Malaria Campaign and the Decorah Area Food Pantry.
Decorah residents can register up to a week before Jan. 12 or 19 by contacting Luther College Ministries at (563) 387-1271 or by e-mail at email@example.com. Please provide a brief explanation of the work you would like completed.
