Decorah residents can sign up for assistance with yard work and household chores
Volunteers from the Luther College Student Congregation will help Decorah residents with fall chores on Saturday, Oct. 26 when Luther holds its annual Fall Fling community service day.
Luther students will help community residents with yard work, planting, light housework, window removal, cleaning, and other chores.
Groups of assigned students will go to each home for an hour and a half.
The day's volunteer work schedule will give priority to Decorah residents who are elderly or differently abled, but any resident who is in need of Fall Fling help may participate in the project.
There is no charge for the Fall Fling services, but donations will be accepted. All donations to Fall Fling will be divided between the YouVisa program of the Northeast Iowa Peace and Justice Center and the Syrian Disaster Appeal of ELCA Disaster Response.
Decorah residents may sign up by contacting Luther College Ministries, telephone
(563) 387-1271 or email firstname.lastname@example.org before Friday, Oct. 18. Please provide a brief explanation of the household or yard tasks to be completed in a 90-minute timeframe.
