Student, professor team to start gardening program at elder care center

Gardening has healing powers. Residents of a Decorah care center experienced those healing powers when they participated in a 12-week gardening project designed and conducted this summer by Stephanie Travers, Luther College assistant professor of psychology, and her summer research student, Mitchell Demers, a senior psychology and health major from Rice Lake, Wis.

Luther, Vesterheim receive NHPRC grant for archives project

Luther College, in partnership with Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum, has received a grant of $119,898 from the National Historical Publication and Records Commission (NHPRC) for a project designed to survey and make accessible significant Norwegian-American records housed at the two institutions.
