Alumna Hoa Nguyen ’02 faces deportation

Hoa Nguyen, a 2002 alumna of Luther, is fighting a legal battle against deportation because of a clerical error in her graduate student visa status. She and her husband, Dan Hanson ’03, ask the Luther community for their help in this.

Sampson Hoffland Laboratories

Sampson Hoffland Laboratories awarded prestigious LEED gold certification

Luther College has received a gold certification from the internationally recognized Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design green building certification system in recognition of the environmentally friendly design and construction features incorporated in the college’s recently completed Sampson Hoffland Laboratories project.

Walking guru Mark Fenton to speak at Luther Oct. 7

USDA's REAP program awards Luther grant, loan for wind turbine project

Tom Vilsack, U.S. Agriculture Secretary, has announced the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Energy for America Program will award Luther College Wind Energy Project, LLC, a $500,000 grant and a $1,302,385 loan to fund the installation of a 1.65 MW wind turbine that is expected to generate about one-third of the electrical energy consumed by the college each year.
