Center for Global Learning

Each year nearly 2,500 students are drawn to Luther, which is located in a picturesque corner of northeast Iowa. And from here, these students experience a larger world.

A Luther education connects students with vital global issues and ideas in many ways—through study and scholarship on campus and through off-campus studies, internships, and service around the globe. Campus conversations reflect the experiences and passions of over 130 international students from nearly 50 different countries. And each year, over 400 Luther students expand their worldviews through international study, ranking Luther among the top 10 baccalaureate colleges in the nation for the percentage of students who study abroad prior to graduation—over 75 percent.

The paths students follow to reach Luther are as varied as the paths they take once they arrive. And while on campus, all students find themselves learning to live a central element of the college’s mission—to move beyond immediate interests and present knowledge into a larger world.

The view from northeast Iowa is, quite literally, much more global than one would imagine.
