The LCCT program offers students the opportunity to study Kiswahili for four weeks and to enroll in regular classes at the University of Dar es Salaam for the fall term. In addition to university classes, the LCCT assigns coursework relevant to the program. A week-long orientation is conducted by the LCCT prior to arrival at the university. Students live in university residence halls and take their meals on campus in the dining hall or coffee shops.
Eligibility: juniors and seniors; minimum 2.5 GPA
Students should refer to the Financial Aid Office for information on financial aid eligibility. Students who receive Pell Grants as a portion of their financial aid package are also eligible to apply for a federal Gilman Scholarship (competitive). Students with a strong academic background may also apply for the Boren Scholarship. Please note: the application for the Boren Scholarship is due by mid-January.
