The Charles M. and Carol M. Austin Scholarship, established by Charles and Carol Austin to be awarded to qualified pre-seminary students who can show evidence of need for financial assistance.

The Harold and Sissel Berdal Scholarship, established by Sissel Berdal, to be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance, with preference given to students who are preparing to study at seminary following their graduation from Luther.

The Harald and Helen Bestul Memorial Scholarship, established by Harald and Helen Bestul to be awarded to senior pre-seminary students who show need for financial assistance.

The Leander B. Brakke Memorial Scholarship, established by the Brakke family, to be awarded to junior or senior pretheological students.

The Oscar E. and Irene O. Engebretson Memorial Award, established by Mrs. Irene Engebretson, her family and friends in memory of her husband, The Rev. Oscar E. Engebretson, to be awarded (applicable toward educational fees of the senior year) to outstanding students who intend to enter Luther-Northwestern Theological Seminary upon graduation from Luther College.

The Victor A. Fiskerbeck Memorial Scholarship, established by his wife Violet and daughters to honor members of the Fiskerbeck family who have attended Luther College including Victor A.Fiskerbeck ’28; his father Olaf K. Fiskerbeck; his daughters Elizabeth Bruening ’58, and Ardis Christen ’59; and granddaughter Kari Christen ’89. Awards shall be made to junior or senior preseminary students who can show evidence of need for financial assistance, or if none are qualified, to junior or senior students with financial need preparing to enter the field of education.

The Charles A. Fritz Memorial Scholarship, established by family and friends in memory of Charles A. Fritz, to be awarded to students with a demonstrated financial need, with preference given to those enrolled in pretheological courses, participating in music organizations.

The Gerhard E. Frost Memorial Endowed Scholarship, to be awarded to juniors or seniors interested in theological studies, with preference given to non-traditional aged students, who can show evidence of financial need.

The Torrie and Julia Lee Gesley Memorial Scholarship, established by Mabel Gesley in memory of her parents, to be awarded to worthy junior or senior students preparing for the Christian ministry, preferably for service in the mission field at home or abroad.

The Reverend Nils Edwin Halvorsen Scholarship, established in memory of Rev. Halvorsen, Luther class of 1896 by his daughter, Marie Halvorsen Gibson Olsson’41, to be awarded to pre-seminary students.

The Merton J. and Lucille M. Hamilton Memorial Scholarship, established by the estate of Lucille Hamilton to be awarded to students studying for the Lutheran ministry.

The Morris Hasvold Scholarship, established by Paul Hasvold in memory of his father, to be awarded to students preparing to attend a Lutheran seminary, and who are in need of financial assistance.

The Heggen Family Scholarship, established in memory of Tjeran and Mae Heggen and in honor of Stella (Moklebust) Heggen to be awarded to pre-seminary students or to minority students if no pre-seminary students are available.

The John and Dorothea Ofstedal Helms Scholarship, established in memory of Rudolph Anders and Edith Estrem Ofstedal, to be awarded to students who can show evidence of need for financial assistance, with preference given to those students intending to prepare for church-related vocations. 

The Alf B. and Laura J. Larson Scholarship, established by Laura Larson to provide scholarships for pre-seminary students who show evidence of need for financial assistance.

The Bernhard and Eleanor Lokensgard Scholarship, established in memory of Bernhard ’29 and Eleanor Lokensgard in recognition of their service through ministry in the Lutheran Church to be awarded to upperclass students who intend to enroll in a Lutheran seminary to prepare for ordained ministry or who are majoring in music to prepare for a career in church music and who show need for financial assistance.

The Ellen Lomen Memorial Scholarship, established by Richard and Doris Lomen, to be awarded to students who can show evidence of need for financial aid, with preference given to students enrolled in the preseminary courses.

The Dr. Martin J. Nelson Scholarship, established by Dr. Martin J. Nelson ’16, for many years academic dean at the University of Northern Iowa, to be awarded to students preparing for work in the Christian ministry or in education.

The G. N. Nordgaard Family Endowed Scholarship, established by Emma and Nora Nordgaard to give honor to the “family on the farm” of Gilbert and Berit Nordgaard, their parents. Awards shall be made to students showing evidence of financial need, with preference given to students studying for the ministry.

The Margrethe and Rolf Preus Memorial Scholarship, established by Dr. and Mrs. J.C.K. Preus of Minneapolis, Minnesota, in memory of their daughter and son, to be awarded to students from First Lutheran Church, Albert Lea, Minnesota, with preference given to pretheological majors.

The Skattum Memorial Scholarship, established by the parents, fellow students and friends of Phillip Skattum ’57, to be awarded to graduating seniors as assistance in the first year of study at Luther-Northwestern Theological Seminary.

The Ingvald B. and Helen C. Sorensen Memorial Scholarship, to be awarded to students who can show evidence of need for financial assistance, and who are majoring in music or preseminary studies.

The Morris A. Sorenson Family Scholarship, established by the Morris A. Sorenson family members who graduated from or who attended Luther College, to be awarded to senior students on the basis of academic achievement and Christian commitment, with first preference given to preseminary students, and secondly, to students in the natural sciences.

The L. Olav Tolo Endowed Scholarship, to be awarded to junior or senior students maintaining at least a 3.0 grade point average with preference given to those students majoring in pretheological studies.

The Joseph and Aleta Ulring Pre-Seminary Scholarship, to be awarded to senior pre-seminary students.
