The Lyle B. and Evelyn E. Beaver Scholarship, to be awarded to qualified students who can show evidence of need for financial assistance with preference given for students interested in recreation.

The James Beile Memorial Scholarship, to be awarded to students with good scholastic records.

The Junior Bickle Scholarship, established by Selma Hougan of Stoughton, Wisconsin, in memory of her son Junior Bickle -’41, to be awarded to students with good scholastic records.

The Dorothy Y. Emmons Scholarship in Elementary Education, established by Louise Rolfs, to be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance, with preference given to upperclassmen majoring in elementary education.

The Kent and Lois Finanger Scholarship shall be awarded to qualified students with demonstrated need for financial assistance with preference given to Health, Physical Education majors. Dahl/Finanger family members can be included, but not preferred, in the broader pool for consideration.

The Lucia H. Finanger Memorial Scholarship, established by family and friends in memory of Lucia Finanger to be awarded to junior or senior students majoring in health or physical education, with preference given to students planning to teach and coach.

The Henry and Arlene Hoff Family Scholarship was established by family and friends, to be awarded to a qualified junior and senior students with demonstrated need for financial assistance and a grade point average of at least 3.0, preference shall be given to students majoring in athletic training, if none, preference shall be given to students majoring in health, or physical education.

The George and Minnie Leistikow Scholarship, to be awarded to seniors with a strong record of academic performance planning to enter the field of education who can show evidence of need for financial assistance. Students need not be education majors.

The Jay and Kay McGrew Endowed Scholarship, established in honor of Jay and Kay McGrew on their retirement to recognize their distinguished service to Luther College as professors and coaches, to be awarded to students majoring in health and physical education.

The Dr. Stanley T. F. Moen Scholarship, established by Dr. Stanley T. F. Moen, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to be awarded to worthy students having financial need.

The Don R. and Mary Jane Moore Memorial Scholarship, established by friends and family in loving memory of Don R. Moore, who dedicated his life to teaching and coaching. Awards shall be given to qualified students who can show evidence of need for financial assistance, with preference given to education majors with interest in coaching.

The Oberlin B. and Ethel E. Nereson Memorial Scholarship Fund provides assistance to deserving students with preference to be given to those students pursuing a career in education.

The Marion L. Olson Scholarship, established through a bequest in her Last Will and Testament, shall be awarded to qualified students who are preparing to pursue a teaching career.

The Hamlet E. and Thelma Peterson Scholarship, established in memory of Dr. and Mrs. Hamlet E. Peterson, to be awarded for use in the senior year to students who exhibit superior scholastic ability, leadership, and Christian principles. “Coach Pete” coached football, basketball, baseball, and track at Luther College for more than four decades.

The Maynord I. Steensgard Education Scholarship, to be awarded to students who can show evidence of need for financial assistance, with preference given to students majoring in elementary or secondary education.

The Phillip Stoltenberg Scholarship, established by an anonymous donor to honor the memory of Phillip Stoltenberg’s contribution to education, to be awarded to junior or senior students planning to enter the teaching profession.

The Sterling and Vila Thompson Scholarship, to be awarded to students who show evidence of need for financial assistance, with preference given to male students majoring in elementary education.
