Endowed Chair $1,250,000
An endowed chair is the college's most prestigious academic distinction, usually named by the donor and held by a senior faculty member who is acclaimed as an excellent teacher and a recognized scholar in his/her field. An endowed chair exists in perpetuity.
An endowed chair provides funds for the annual salary of a professor. The endowment also provides:
- Funds for the professor and students to conduct research projects, attend professional conferences, and/or engage in other education activities, with the goal of sharing newly acquired knowledge with students and other members of the faculty
- Funds for mentoring students both inside and outside the classroom
