Live Auction Rules and Regulations
- Upon arriving at the event site, each paying guest is a potential bidder.
- Each guest will receive directions as to how to bid.
- All bids must be placed in person. There is no virtual or online bidding.
- Every attempt has been made to provide the best and most accurate description for each auction item or service. We apologize for any inadvertent errors.
- Items purchased are accepted on an "as is" basis unless specified in the item description or on the item poster. Luther College makes no warranty or guarantee.
- By his/her purchase, the buyer waives any claims for liability against Luther College.
- Luther College may not be held responsible for any personal injuries or damages which may result from the use of property or services sold.
- Luther College reserves the right to withdraw any item at any time before the auction.
- Please note any expiration date(s) or special instructions with each item or certificate. If no expiration date is listed, the certificate is good for one year until November 16, 2013.
- Bids lower than the minimum stated bid will not be considered valid.
- You may bid as many times as you like and on as many items as you would like.
- When raising the bid on an item, the bid must be raised by a minimum of five (5) dollars.
- Bidding is in whole dollars only.
- The highest bidder listed at the time of closing will become the owner of the item.
- Payment by the successful bidder must be made at the "cash out" table with payment by cash, check, or credit card. Visa, MasterCard, and Discover accepted.
- Upon payment at checkout, you will receive a copy of an invoice marked "PAID." At that time you may return to the auction tables to claim your purchase. An auction volunteer will be happy to assist you.
- No item shall be removed from the auction tables until paid for.
- All purchased items must be paid for and removed from the site that evening.
- There is no delivery of items unless otherwise arranged.
- If an item is purchased by a group of individuals, payment must be made by only one member of the group. No split payments allowed.
- All sales are final--no refunds, no exchanges.
- A bid is a binding contract.
- If you purchase an item and your payment exceeds the fair market value, the difference can be a charitable contribution. Please consult your professional tax preparer.
Raffle Rules and Regulations
- Raffle tickets will be sold for $5 each, or 5 for $20. Cash only.
- Tickets will only be sold at the event and on the date when the winning tickets are drawn.
- Tickets will be sold from 7 p.m. until the winning tickets are drawn.
- Those purchasing raffle tickets will keep one half of the ticket; the other half may be entered into a container corresponding with a prize of the purchaser's choosing.
- Winning tickets will be drawn at the end of the program (approximately 9:15).
- If the winning ticket does not claim their prize after the number is repeated three times, another ticket will be drawn.
- Winners must be present to win.
