My name is Kim and for part of Spring or Easter break as they call it in Germany I was in Freiburg. Freiburg is a city delightfully nestled in the Black Forest or Schwarzwald in Germany.
In the video that I made of my photos from walking around on only two of the mountains, one may notice a nearly out of place part of the horizon, most easily seen in the 360 view at the end. We were told that is France. We did not realize that we were that close to France! However, my goal with this video was to help you see why I hardly brought myself to leave. The city also has this neat respect of nature and simple living vibe.
We were in town for Easter Sunday and Monday, so we didn't see much of the town as almost everything was closed. Honestly I had no issue with having no other choice than to return to the peace of nature after so many cities this semester. (Though I really enjoy them, they wear me out.)
We only spent a few days in Freiburg and honestly if it had not been for school and inherently needing my diploma in May, I would not have left. Naturally, to really experience the shear magnitude and beauty, one must be there.
In any case, if you are in Germany now or in the future and happen to have some choice or time to check something that may not be what tourists tend to do the most, I would highly recommend Freiburg or simply the Black Forrest. Rather, what I have seen in pictures, southern Germany is hardly a miss.
I hope you enjoy the video and photos.
As you may hear it in Germany, "Mach's gut," which is a casual "Take Care"
