Evgenia Fotiou

Evgenia Fotiou has been a professor in the Religion department since 2012, focusing on the topics of indigenous religion, gender, shamanism, and qualitative methods in anthropology. Some of her course topics include Shamanism and Cultural Anthropology.

For January Term, Professor Fotiou leads a course on the religious traditions of Amazonian peoples. Students will be introduced to indigenous Amazonian myths, ritual practices, sorcery, shamanism, and millenarian movements through readings and films.
