What's New
What's new in Financial Aid?
Information on this page will change regularly to account for new happenings in financial aid.
- The 2012-13 FAFSA is now available for completion.
- FAFSA renewal reminders are being sent by the U.S. Dept of Education between January 17 - February 10 to those students who have not yet completed a 2012-13 FAFSA. E-mail reminders will be sent to students who have a valid e-mail on their 2011-12 FAFSA, while paper reminders will be sent to those without valid e-mail addresses.
- A PIN number is needed to complete the FAFSA as well as Federal loan promissory notes. It is important to remember that a PIN is an electronic signature and that it needs to be safeguarded. More information about the PIN can be obtained at http://www.pin.ed.gov/.
- The Financial Aid Office is no longer requiring the completion of Supplemental Financial Aid Applications. However, we do ask continuing students to complete the Continuing Student Questionnaire available on our "Forms" page.
- Application and Verification Forms have been added to our website for the 2012-13 academic year.
- Beginning with the 2012-13 academic year, the Financial Aid Office can no longer accept signed tax returns for use in the verification process. It is now a Federal requirement that tax information must be verified from an official IRS Tax Return Transcript. These transcripts can be ordered free of charge by completing IRS Form 4506-T or by calling 1-800-908-9946. Due to these new requirements, we strongly encourage students to utilize the FAFSA-IRS Data Retrieval process when completing their FAFSA to limit requests for the Tax Return Transcripts.
- Applications for the Erdman Prize Competition/Entrepreneurial Showcase are now available.
