I am interested in applied mathematics. My dissertation research was in the area of calculus of variations and partial differential equations, and had some applications to problems in mathematical physics. I am now working in the area of mathematical biology.

I enjoy spending time with my wife Lori and our three children, playing games (my favorites are Checkers, Settlers of Catan, and Ticket to Ride), chopping wood, hunting, camping, and canoeing.
