After the first full day of play at the 36-hole Wartburg Spring Invitational, the Luther White team is in fifth place after shooting a 308. The Luther Blue team is seventh carding a 312. Sixteen teams are playing at Centennial Oaks Golf Course, a Par 72 that measures 6,614 yards, located in Waverly.
Mount Mercy University leads the field with a 299. Central is second at 301, Simpson is third at 304 and host Wartburg is fourth with a 305.
Peter Kepart led the White squad with a 75. Matt Axelrod (77), Adam Turner (78), Britt Vander Linden (78) and Andrew Betts (79) completed the five.
Joel Bruns paced the Blue squad with a 75. Tobias Kohl (76), Andrew Peter (78), Sam Grotnes (83) and Elliot Horst (89) rounded out the scoring.
Kephart and Bruns and tied for 10th individually, while Kohl is tied for 15th.
Day Two Results: The Blue team shot a 293 and finished in fourth place with a two round total of 605. Mount Mercy won the team title with a 585 and was followed by Central (603) and Simpson (603).
The White team finished in a tie for seventh at 621 after shooting a 313 today.
Tobias Kohl and Andrew Peter posted top-10 finishes after shooting rounds of 70 and 71 respectively. Kohl finished with a 36-hole total of 146, while Peter finished at 149 good for seventh place.
Luther's next competition will be the Grandview Viking Classic April 17-18. The two day tournament will be played at Otter Creek Golf Course, Ankeny, Iowa.
