Coe College put an end to Luther's six-game win streak posting a 75-61 victory tonight in the Regents Center.
The Kohawks blistered the nets in the first frame, shooting 60 percent and led 44-28 at intermission. In the second half, the Norse battled back and pulled to within five (51-56) with just under 11 minutes remaining, but could not muster the final rally needed.
The Kohawks were lead by Andrew Wirth, who tied Coe's single game three point record, connecting on 8-of-13 from behind the arch. Wirth lead all scorers with 30.
Cale Austin lead the Norse with 14 and Jake Martin added 12. John Androus was next with nine, while Brian Nnaoji chipped in eight.
With the loss, Luther moves to 6-5 in league play and 14-8 overall. Coe improved their record to 2-9 in conference play and 10-12 overall. The Norse are back in action this Saturday when they will travel to Waverly, Iowa and take on the Knights from Wartburg College. Start time is slated for 4:00 p.m.
