J W Slauson and Brock Arend both tallied three points, leading the Norse to a 2-1 victory over St. Mary's University tonight in Winona, Minn.
Arend (3) scored the first goal of the evening at 45:27 assisted by Slauson (3). St. Mary's Matt Graber (3) evened the score in the 67th minute. Slauson scored the game winner at 88:46 assisted by Arend (1) and James Garcia-Prats (5).
The Norse dominated throughout the match out shooting the Cardinals 23-6 and also had a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Tommy Breen, who made his first start this season, turned away three shots on goal en route to the victory.
Tonight's match was the fifth against a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) opponent in the past six matches. The Norse (5-3-0) will return to action tomorrow night when they will host Waldorf College under the lights at 7:00 p.m.
