Luther captured the team title of its own Norse Relays posting a 140 points. Carleton College was second at 127, followed by Ashford University with 70.
First place finishes were secured by Joel Clark in the 110 hurdles (15.77), Josh Olson in the triple jump (41-2 1/4) and the 4 x 200 relay team of Clark, Henry Jungbauer, Jonathan Williams and Nick Clark (1:30.15).
The 4 x 400 (Erik Ohlrogge, Sam Stokes-Cerkvenik, Williams, Nick Clark); 4 x 800 (Kurt Hellman, Logan Langley, Greg Scott, Jackson Espeset); 4 x 1600 (Austin Bauer, Alex Rigdon, Tyler Broadwell, Marty Mitchell); and 1600 Sprint Medley (Caleb Freund, Williams, Ohlrogge, Hellman) relays all placed second.
The 4 x 100 (Stokes-Cerkvenik, Kyle Hove, Peter Krumm and Devin Gilbertson) finished third.
Top three finishes in the field events were posted by Erik Queoff in the pole vault (2nd - 12-5 1/2); Stokes-Cervenik in the 400 hurdles (2nd - 56.59); Freund in the long jump (3rd - 20-5 3/4) and triple jump (3rd - 40-9 1/2); Jungbauer in the javelin (3rd - 136-5); and Dan Etter in the hammer (2nd - 150-7).
Dan Blattner also competed in the hammer placing fifth (134-2). His mark moved him up to the seventh best throw in this event in Luther history.
Luther will return to action one week from today when it participate in the Augustana-Rock Island Invitational on Saturday, April 20. Start time is scheduled for Noon.
