Luther ran to a 14th place finish today at the NCAA III National Cross Country Championships. The Norse posted a team total of 413.
St. Olaf won the team title by two points over favorite North Central 84 to 86. UW-La Crosse was third with 155.
Individually, Marty Mitchell earned All-American honors placing 28th from the field of 275 runners. The top-35 runners earn All-American honors. Mitchell covered the 8K course in Hanover, Ind., with a time of 25:16.9.
Michael LeDuc of Connecticut College won the individual title with a time of 24:29.3. John Crain of North Central was third (24:33.1), followed by Grant Wintheiser of St. Olaf (24:34.8).
Rounding out the top five for the Norse was Austin Bauer (42nd - scored 29 - 25:29.6), Alex Rigdon (94th - scored 68 - 25:52.5), Issac Jensen (191 - scored 145 - 26:31.0), and Scott Mittman (199 - scored 152 - 26:34.1). Evan Neubauer (202nd - 26:35.5) and Brock Laue (266th - 27:51.4) ran sixth and seventh respectively.
