Luther split its squad today sending he distance and mid-distance athletes to the Hamline University Invite and the rest of the squad competed at the Cornell Invite.
Individually, a number of Norse posted top-three finishes. Leah Broderick recorded the lone first place finish, winning the javelin with a mark of 119-07. Her distance ranks sixth on Luther's all-time list. Anna Burke was one place behind Broderick with a distance of 110-03.
Anna Hennessy and Marea Holkesvik placed third in the 400 meters and 400 hurdles respectively. Hennessy was clocked at 1:03.08, while Holkesvik's time was 1:08.85.
The 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relays both placed second. The 4 x 100 foursome of Erin Kammer, Kelsey Strand, Hennessy and Holkesvik posted a time of 51.37. The 4 x 400 squad of Strand, Holkesvik, Hennessy and Hannah Theisen crossed the finish line in 4:07.43.
Amanda Dunn posted a Luther top-10 performance in the hammer throw. Dunn placed fourth with a throw of 147-10 that ranks second all-time. Her previous best was 129-0.
Luther will return to action on Saturday, April 13 when it will host the Norse Relays. Field events and the 10,000 meter run will begin at Noon.
