Nationally ranked No. 7 Luther improved to 3-1 after sweeping Bethel University 10-7, 9-8 in a non-conference showdown in the Rochester Dome.

In game one, the Norse scored eight runs in the top of the third after falling behind 4-0. Alise Miller and Carli Radil both had two RBI, while Shari Huber and Kelsey Weindruch were also credited with an RBI each. The Norse added two more runs in the seventh. 

Elisa Smith was 2-for-4 with a team best three RBI. Morgan Franklin was 3-for-4 and Hatting was 2-for-4. Becca Girvan (2-0) allowed seven runs on five hits, walked nine and struck out nine.

Luther responded with a come-from-behind victory in game two to secure the sweep. After falling behind 7-0, the Norse scored three in the third, four in the fourth and two in the fifth to secure the victory.

Kelsey Rose (1-1) picked up the win in relief allowing one run on four hits in 2 1/3 innings of work. 

Katie Wieland, Radil, Miller and Weindruch all drove in two runs. Wieland and Weindruch was 3-for-4 and Miller was 2-for-4. Wieland drove in what proved to be the game winning runs with a two run single in the fifth.

Box Score

Luther returns to action when it is scheduled to play 12 games during its annual spring trip to the National Training Center, Clermont, Fla., March 24-30.
