Trailing 4-2 entering the top of the sixth inning in game one, Luther put five runs on the board and took what looked like a comfortable 7-4 lead. Kelsey Weindruch started the rally with a two-run double up the middle, followed by a three-run home run by Lauran Snyder.

The Norse added what proved to be the game winning run in the seventh, when Elisa Smith drove in Kelsey Rose, after rose reached base with a double to center field. The run proved huge as St. Mary's scored three runs in the bottom of the frame and pulled to within one run and the final of 8-7.

Snyder led the attack going 2-for-4 with four RBI. Weindruch was 3-for-4 with 2 RBI and Kittleson and Smith each drove in one run.

Becca Girvan (17-2) went the distance in the circle. Girvan allowed seven runs on 10 hits and walked two.

Morgan Franklin led the attack going 4-for-5 with four RBI and scoring four times. Shari Huber set the table with a 3-for-4 performance from her lead-off slot and scored three times.

Abby Christian broke the career RBI record that was held by All-American Tiffany Kruse with 147. Christian drove in two runs and has a career total of 148. Snyder tied the old record with one RBI and now has a career total of 147.

Kelsey Rose (7-1) went the distance in the circle allowing five runs on three hits, walked two and struck out two. She also helped herself in the batter box going 2-for-4 and driving in three runs.
