League leading Central College swept the Norse this afternoon 5-4 (11) and 1-0 in Pella.
Trailing 4-2 entering the top of the seventh inning, Luther sent the game into extra frames scoring two runs on four hits. Four innings later the Dutch scored the game winner on a sacrifice fly to right field.
Dirk Lindaman threw a three-hit shut out as the Dutch defeated the Norse 1-0 in the nightcap. Central scored its lone run in the bottom of the third when Mike Furlong doubled down the left field line driving in Erik Sipes who started the inning with a single.
Thomas Weber had two of Luther's three hits going 2-for-3 at the plate. Chris Erikson also had a hit.
The two losses drops Luther's Iowa Conference record to 4-7, 11-14 overall. Central remains atop the league standings with a record of 11-2, 21-5 overall.
The two teams will wrap up the three-game series tomorrow morning. The nine inning game will begin at 10:00 a.m.
