The Luther men’s tennis team jumped back into Iowa Conference competition for its second match of the day and defeated Loras 8-1, improving to 5-0 in the IIAC. The Norse won the top two doubles matches and went on to sweep the six singles matches all in straight sets.
Tyler Van Heest and Sam Cychosz paired for an (8-4) victory at No. 1 doubles, defeating Jon Moore and Brian Falvey (8-4). Joe LaFountaine and Aaron Ford made quick work of John Keane and Justin Steines at No. 2 doubles, cruising to a (8-2) victory. Loras picked up its lone win with a victory at No. 3 doubles.
LaFountaine was a (6-4, 6-1) winner over Moore at No. 1 singles while Van Heest beat Keane (6-1, 6-1) at No. 2. Matt Knutson beat Jeff Kasel (6-1, 6-3) at No. 3 while Sam Cychosz blanked Ken Tucker (6-0, 6-0) at No. 4. Dan Warden defeated Steines (6-1, 6-2) at No. 5. Ford completed the sweep with a (6-1, 6-0) decision against Garret Prusha at No. 6.
