Luther placed eighth of nine teams at the Augustana (IL) Invitational.
Emma Spoon and Addy Rickels highlighted the Norse efforts with first place finishes in the 5,000 and heptathlon respectively.
Spoon won the 5,000 with a time of 17:54.55, finishing just ahead of teammate Christina Storlie who was second with a time of 17:58.29.
Rickels was one of four Norse who participated in the two-day heptathlon. Rickels tallied a winning point total of 3,956 pts. Leah Broderick was second with 3,706 that ranks ninth on Luther's all-time list. Anna Burke and Anna Lampe were third and sixth with point totals of 3,613 and 3,524 respectively.
Maggie Pierson, Sam McAllister and Amanda Dunn all finished third in their respective events. Pierson posted a time of 4:43.28 in the 1500, that ranks tenth on Luther's all-time list. McAllister was third in the 800 clocked at 2:17.70. Dunn recorded the sixth best throw in Luther history in the discus with a mark of 137-7.
Desi Mantey also recorded a Luther top-10 mark in the pole vault. Mantey cleared the bar at 8-0 3/4 that ranks tenth.
Next week, the Norse will participate in the Drake Relays April 26-28 as well as the St. Mary's University (MN) Open on April 28.
