For the second time this season Luther squared off against UW-La Crosse. In the very first match of the year for both clubs, the Norse defeated the Eagles 3-0, at the St. Mary's University Invite. Tonight was a different story as La Crosse jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead en route to a 3-1 victory. The Eagles posted scores of 25-21, 25-20 in sets one and two. Luther responded with an impressive 25-9 victory in set three and battled in a closely contested fourth set, but came up short 25-22.
Hannah Wilson and Sophia Brown led the Norse offensive attack producing 15 and 14 kills respectively. Lindsey Ryan dished out 47 assists and Alexis Dorschner led the back row with 21 digs.
The loss drops Luther's overall record to 8-8. La Crosse improved to 10-8.
The Norse will return to action next Wednesday night when they will host University of Dubuque at 7:30 p.m. This match will be video streamed.
