Softball - NCAA Championship vs. Ohio Northern

Luther stayed alive at the NCAA III National Softball Championship after defeating Ohio Northern 2-1 this morning in Salem, Va.

Trailing 1-0 entering the bottom of the fifth, the Norse tied the game when All-American Shari Huber scored from third on a wild pitch. Huber reached base with a double to left center and advanced to third of a fly ball to left field by Kelsey Weindruch. All-American Kelsey Kittleson hit a lead-off home run to center field in the bottom of the sixth that proved to be the game winner. Kittleson's home run was her 11th of the year.

All-America pitcher Becca Girvan (30-6) went the distance in the circle allowing one run on four hits and struck out five.

Luther (41-8) advances in the elimination bracket and will face the loser of the Montclair State University vs. Roanoke College contest tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. ET. Fans can watch all the action at ncaa.com
