Presentation College, located in Aberdeen, S.D. and a member of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, met Luther in Jordan, Minn. for a non-conference double header this afternoon. The Norse swept the two-game series 7-2, 19-6 and improved to 13-15 overall.
In game one, Norse scored four in the second, two in the fourth and one in the seventh. Kevin Bradley was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI. Eric Pittman was 4-for-4 with an RBI and Chris Erikson was 3-for-4 with an RBI and scored twice.
Jared Berlage (2-0) was credited with the win. Berlage pitched the middle three innings allowing one run on three hits and striking out one.
In the nightcap, Luther exploded for 15 hits, that included four home runs. Ryan Bahnemann hit a grand slam in the first and a solo shot in the second. Pittman and Matt Larson also hit solo shots in the first and second innings respectively. Bahnemann ended the game with five RBI. Andrew Nelson drove in four runs going 3-for-4 at the plate.
Augie Lindmark (5-1), one of six Norse pitchers to take the mound, was credited with the win. During his 1 2/3 innings of work, Lindmark did not allow a hit and struck out two.
The Norse return to Iowa Conference action on Friday and Saturday when they will host Cornell College Friday's nine inning game will begin at 3:00 p.m.. Saturday's double header begins at 1:00 p.m. All three games will be video streamed.
