Day One Recap: After the first day of competition at the Grinnell Invitational, Luther is in fourth place with a total of 348 points. Grinnell sits atop the six-team field with 606 points, followed by Gustavus Adolphus with 599 and Augustana with 360.
Three Norse relays posted top-three finishes. The 400 medley relay of Sam Weinberg, Tim Cutler, Eric Hild and Zach Kuntz placed second (3:41.13). The 200 freestyle relay of Kuntz, Ryley Kramka, Sam Raiche and Jon Hagen placed third (1:30.38). Weinberg, HIld, Nathan Maloney and Cutler placed third in the 800 freestyle relay (7:22.82).
Individually, Kuntz placed third in the 100 freestyle (49.13) and Cutler placed second in the 200 breaststroke (2:15.67).
Day Two Recap: Luther moved up one position in the final team totals finishing third with 669.5 points. Grinnell won the team title with 1,290.5, followed by Gustavus 1,239.5. Augustana finished fourth at 660.5.
Tim Cutler posted a gold medal performance in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.56). Cutler edged Mayland Ringdahl of Grinnell (1:01.83) to secure Luther's lone gold medal performance of the two-day meet.
Chandler Roberson (18:09.08) and Roy Barnett (18:09.27) finished second and third respectively in the 1,650 freestyle.
The Norse will wrap up their dual meet schedule at Coe College one week from today. This meet is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
