Luther's six-game win streak came to an end tonight in St. Paul as Northwestern College defeated the Norse 74-72. Both teams shot 52 percent and the lead changed hands 15 times in this non-conference contest.

The Eagles Wade Chitwood led the way with a game high 31 points that included a 5-for-5 effort from behind the three-point line. 

Luther was led by Tim Merritt who scored 18 points and was 4-for-6 from behind the arch. Zach Matos-Pritchard chipped in a career high 14 and John Androus tallied 12.

The loss gives Luther an overall record of 6-2. Northwestern improved to 4-4.

Following finals next week, the Norse will travel to St. Bonifacious and Crown College on Dec. 17, for a game that will begin at 4:00 p.m.
